Job summary

Meritus in South Wales seeks experienced B1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join a base maintenance team. You will supervise technicians, manage resources, and ensure compliance with Part 145, company procedures, and SLAs.

Valid B1 licence (UK CAA AML or EASA AML) and current type ratings on Boeing or Airbus families are required; willingness for further training is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires B1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence (UK CAA AML or EASA AML).
• Minimum 5 years aircraft maintenance experience; at least 3 years in base maintenance.
• Broad skill set across aircraft systems including rigging, component replacement and modifications.
• Strong understanding of aircraft documentation and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise teams during base maintenance checks.
• Mentor and delegate to junior staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Complete and review all documentation in line with MOE and procedures.

Working Hours

Seasonal Shift 1: Monday - Thursday 07:00 - 18:15. Friday 07:00 - 14:30.

Seasonal Shift 2: 5 days on/4 off, 5/4, 5/5 - 07:00 - 18:15

Seasonal Shift 3: 7 days on/7 off - 07:00 - 18:15

The Role

We are seeking experienced B1 Engineers to join a dedicated base maintenance team, responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across a range of commercial aircraft. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will supervise technicians and mechanics, manage resources effectively, and ensure full compliance with Part 145 regulations, company procedures and customer SLAs.

Licensing and Type Ratings

Valid B1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (UK CAA AML or EASA AML)

Current type rating and recency on either Boeing or Airbus family aircraft

Desirable: Type rating and recency on Boeing 737 Classic/NG, 757, 767 or Airbus A320 family

Willingness to complete further type training provided by the company

Key Responsibilities
