The Role
Draken Europe is recruiting a B1 Licenced Aircraft Engineer (LAE) at our operating base near Bournemouth Airport. The B1 LAE will focus on Line Maintenance, including maintenance and repair of aircraft and equipment, resource control, and supervision of engineers.
Key Requirements
- Supervise and certify work within company authorization, including technical logs and work cards.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance inspections, defect rectification, modifications, and service bulletins on company aircraft as directed.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance documentation and company procedures, including SHE aspects.
- Complete work cards promptly and accurately record defects.
- Notify the SLAE of critical defects immediately and collaborate on solutions.
- Maintain aircraft and components as allocated, including support at detached locations.
- Liaise with relevant departments to complete tasks.
- Work within budgets and highlight potential financial risks.
- Responsible for ground movement of aircraft as assigned.
- Deputise for the SLAE in their absence.
- Perform safety checks before and during aircraft maintenance, including functional tests.
- Support the development of best practices and team development.
- Monitor staff performance, attendance, and sickness.
Experience / Skills / Qualifications
- Falcon 20 type rating.
- Experience as a certifier in line maintenance, preferably with base maintenance experience.
- Experience on pressurized twin-engine turbine/turbo-prop aircraft above 5700KG.
- Proven supervisory experience leading teams.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Commercial awareness, with ability to work under tight deadlines and budgets.
Education
- EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence Category B1.
- Approved apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Computer literate (Aero-Trac experience preferred).
- Falcon 20 (CF700) Type Rating.
- Falcon 20-5 (Honeywell TFE731) Type Rating (preferred).
- EASA Part 66 Licence Category C (preferred).
- No licence restrictions.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (Part 145, Part 21, Part CAMO, ISO standards).
