Job summary

B1 ENGINEERING SHIFT LEADER - MAN (UK CAA/EASA)

About the Role

AES (Aircraft Engineering Services Ltd) are inviting applications for an experienced B1 Engineering Shift Leader to be based at Manchester Airport on 2D2N rotations working in partnership with our client Ryanair, Europe's largest airline. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced B1 Licenced Engineer to take a leadership role within a busy and growing Line Station, leading a team of Engineers, Mechanics and Trainees while remaining actively involved in day-to-day aircraft maintenance.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Station Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance across the Line Maintenance operation. You will provide leadership and technical support to the Engineering team, ensuring that aircraft are maintained to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leadership and Management of a team of Engineers, Mechanics and Trainees at the Manchester Line Station.
• Coordinating all Line Maintenance operation activities, including routine servicing and defect rectification of Ryanair's 737-800 and 737-8200 Fleet, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery.
• Working closely with Engineering Planners to develop and deliver effective maintenance plans for the Line Station.
• Ensuring maintenance is completed safely, efficient and in accordance with the approved procedures and regulatory requirements, including the promotion of a strong safety and compliance culture.
• Staff development and training, including onboarding of new staff and continued professional development for existing team members.
• Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency, reliability and performance of the team and station.

Requirements / About You

We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced B1 Licenced Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career into a leadership position. You will have proven Line Maintenance experience, strong technical knowledge of the Boeing 737 and the ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced operational environment. You should be comfortable working independently, making sound decisions under pressure and adapting to changing operational priorities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Aircraft Line Maintenance experience (Essential).
• UK CAA Part-66 B1 Licence holder with Boeing 737-NG Type Endorsement & Recency (Essential).
• EASA Part-66 B1 Licence holder with Boeing 737-NG Type Endorsement & Recency (Desirable)
• Boeing 737-Max Type Endorsement (Desirable - Type Courses Available).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (Essential).
• Good IT Literacy (Essential), with AMOS Experience (Desirable).
• All applicants must have unrestricted right to work and travel in the UK and hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
