Job summary

Sloane Helicopters is seeking a motivated B1.3 Licensed Field Engineer to join our Engineering team at Sywell Aerodrome. The role covers hangar and field work across the UK, with travel to customer bases to provide hands-on support.

You will perform maintenance, inspections and fault diagnosis, certify tasks under your licence, and ensure records and regulatory requirements are met. A proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must hold UK CAA Part 66 B1.3 aircraft maintenance licence.
  • Proven ability to diagnose faults and perform safe repairs.
  • Strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK for customer support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis and rectification in hangar and in the field.
  • Diagnose and rectify aircraft defects efficiently and safely.
  • Travel to customer bases across the UK to provide engineering support.
  • Certify maintenance tasks within the licence scope and company approvals.
  • Ensure all work meets regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Complete accurate maintenance and technical records.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and planning teams to deliver excellent service.

Job description

Sloane Helicopters is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated B1.3 Licensed Field Engineer to join our growing Engineering team based at Sywell Aerodrome.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive engineer who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, both within the hangar and in the field, supporting our customers across the UK.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis and rectification of aircraft both with the hangar at Sywell and at customer locations.
  • Diagnose and rectify aircraft defects efficiently and safely.
  • Travel to customer bases throughout the UK to provide engineering support.
  • Certify maintenance tasks within the scope of your licence and company approvals.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Complete accurate maintenance and technical records.
  • Work collaboratively with the Engineering team and planning to deliver exceptional customer service.
What We’re Looking For
  • A motivated, safety-focused Engineer who enjoys working as part of a team and who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.
  • UK CAA Part 66 B1.3 Aircraft Maintenance Licence
  • Strong knowledge of rotary wing maintenance practices
  • Excellent troubleshooting and fault finding skills
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly and work away from the base when required, sometimes out of hours.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • AW109/169 type ratings – type rating courses are available
  • Experience in field maintenance and AOG support.
