Job summary

South Gloucestershire and Stroud College in Gloucester is recruiting for a full-time lecturer on a fixed-term/maternity cover basis. The role involves delivering engaging learning and assessments that meet curriculum requirements, supporting individual learner needs and embedding employability skills through employer engagement and community-based learning.

You will use varied teaching methods, create inclusive resources, monitor learner progress and contribute to annual reviews.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging learning and assessments that meet curriculum requirements and supports individual learner needs.
• Use a range of teaching approaches to motivate learners, build confidence and encourage independence, while developing employability and life skills through employer engagement and community-based learning.
• Create inclusive resources, making effective use of technology, and maintain a positive learning environment where learners feel safe, valued and supported.
• Work closely with learners to overcome barriers to learning, monitor EHCP outcomes and contribute to annual reviews through accurate record keeping.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to promote learner progress, support the development of literacy, language and numeracy skills, and foster a culture of respect, equality and inclusion.
• Use effective communication, questioning and listening skills to engage learners, connect learning to real-world opportunities, and continually reflect on and improve professional practice.
