Job summary

REAL Technical Solutions Limited in Worthing, West Sussex, seeks a Lead Azure Platform Engineer/Cloud Operations Manager to design, implement and operate cloud infrastructure with a focus on Microsoft Azure and landing zones.

This hands-on leadership role combines delivery with mentoring, governance, and collaboration with security/compliance teams. Hybrid working with 2 office days in Worthing is offered, along with a salary of £85,000 to £90,000 and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services (PaaS/IaaS).
• Strong landing zone architecture knowledge and best practices.
• Experience defining and implementing cloud infrastructure standards.
• IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for provisioning resources.
• Containerisation and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Automation with scripting (Python, PowerShell) and DevOps pipelines.
• Security, IAM, encryption, and compliance familiarity.
• Networking concepts in cloud environments (VNETs, subnets, LB, VPN).
• DevOps principles and FinOps understanding for cost-aware delivery.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and maintain Azure environments (IaaS, PaaS).
• Deploy Landing Zones aligned with enterprise architecture.
• Design cloud-native solutions to transition from IaaS to PaaS.
• Monitor and manage cloud workloads for availability and security.
• Implement IaC using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Automate provisioning and maintenance with DevOps pipelines.
• Enforce security best practices and governance policies.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to remediate issues.
