Job summary

Searchability is seeking a mid‑level to senior DevOps Engineer to join a Newcastle-based project for an education-sector client. You will manage Azure infrastructure, develop Terraform modules and build reliable deployments, while enabling observability and strong security practices.

The role is remote with one day per month in the Newcastle office, with flexible hours, private healthcare, 25 days' holiday, and options for paid certifications. Immediate availability with a November start.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Azure infrastructure experience.
• Experience writing Terraform configurations and reusable modules.
• Practical Application Insights experience and the ability to write KQL queries for troubleshooting.
• Experience implementing observability, monitoring and alerting.
• Infrastructure configuration and security hardening experience, with an understanding of the controls implemented.
• CI/CD and scripting experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and improve Azure infrastructure.
• Write Terraform code and reusable modules for deployments.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
• Strengthen infrastructure security and investigate production issues.
• Use telemetry, logs and metrics to understand system behavior and improve reliability.
