Job summary

Abacus Recruitment seeks a Cloud & Platform Network Engineer to join our Belfast team. You will design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on Azure, focusing on scalability and security.

You will collaborate with product owners, developers and stakeholders to drive automation, provide advanced IT support, and ensure robust cloud network solutions. A strong background in Azure security and DevOps is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of Azure security and best practices.
• Background in infrastructure, network administration or DevOps.
• Proficiency in coding languages.
• Experience maintaining vulnerability management solutions and remediation.
• Experience with BGP/OSPF routing protocols.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust, SD-WAN, and cloud technologies (Azure/AWS).
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills; ability to work under pressure.
• ITIL familiarity and readiness to travel to other offices.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain our network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud.
• Deploy scalable cloud solutions in Azure with development teams.
• Design cloud architecture focusing on scalability, performance and security.
• Create and maintain cloud network security documentation.
• Manage vulnerability management tools and remediation per policy.
• Ensure patching aligns with policy and change schedule.
• Troubleshoot edge connection issues and document steps.
• Provide advanced technical support to other departments.
• Monitor systems with IT department tools.
• Liaise with vendors and partners.
• Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery coverage.
• Back up configurations per policy.
