Job summary

Mars Recruitment is seeking a permanent Cloud Engineer in Abingdon, UK, with a hybrid work arrangement (1 day on-site per week). You will build, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure for internal operations and client delivery, using Bicep, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.

The role emphasizes automation-first, security, and scalability. You will work to the standards set by the Cloud Operations Manager, collaborate across teams, and contribute to ISO 27001 / Cyber Essentials Plus environments.

Qualifications

• Good level of experience working within a Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
• Azure cloud certifications: AZ-104, AZ-900, SC-900, AI-900.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Bicep for deploying Azure resources.
• Scripting proficiency with PowerShell and Azure CLI for automation.
• Experience deploying virtualised infrastructure including compute, storage, security.
• Experience with security vulnerability management and remediation.
• Experience administering Windows Server and SQL Server.
• Familiarity with ITSM tooling and service desk processes.
• Experience working within ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus environments.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure for internal operations and client delivery.
• Work to designs and standards set by the Cloud Operations Manager.
• Use a code-first, automation-first approach to infrastructure delivery.
• Build and manage infrastructure through code using Bicep, PowerShell, and Azure CLI as standard tools.
• Ensure consistent, reliable, and secure cloud operations at scale.
