Asda Stores Ltd is seeking a Cloud Engineering Manager to lead the Cloud Platform Team. You will guide a team of cloud engineers, set engineering standards, and drive delivery of Azure-based platform services, security and modernisation initiatives across the organisation.

You will balance people leadership with hands-on cloud technical direction, collaborating with stakeholders to enable secure, scalable cloud solutions and best-practice IaC and governance across the estate.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and managing cloud engineering teams.
• Microsoft Azure in enterprise-scale environments.
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• GitHub and Azure DevOps
• Azure Landing Zones, Policy and Governance
• Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC and PIM
• Azure Networking (vWAN, ExpressRoute, DNS and Private Endpoints)
• Azure Firewall, WAF and Front Door
• Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and observability tooling
• Coaching, mentoring and developing engineers
• Experience supporting AI platforms, services and AI-enabled workloads
• Azure Containers and container technologies
• Cloud cost optimisation and operational excellence practices
• Retail or large-scale enterprise experience

Responsabilités

• Lead, coach and develop a team of cloud engineers, creating a high-performing engineering culture.
• Set technical direction and engineering standards across the cloud platform estate.
• Prioritise and allocate work across the team, balancing strategic initiatives, operational demands and technical debt.
• Remove delivery blockers and support engineers in delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Build and support Azure platform services and cloud infrastructure.
• Drive improvements to Azure Landing Zones, governance frameworks and security controls.
• Deliver and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Improve platform reliability, resilience, observability and operational efficiency.
• Partner with engineering teams and stakeholders across the organisation to enable secure and scalable cloud solutions.
