Job summary

Victrex is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join the Infrastructure & Networks team to maintain and enhance our Azure platform. You will operate Azure IaaS/PaaS, improve resilience, security and efficiency, and drive automation across a diverse tech landscape to support our global business.

The role emphasizes cost control, monitoring, and proactive maintenance, with a focus on securing cloud environments and delivering reliable services for users worldwide.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting and administering Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure, networking and cloud operations.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery testing.
• Understanding of cloud security principles, patch management and infrastructure best practice.
• Experience of cloud cost management and optimisation.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and continual improvement.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Microsoft Azure environments, including IaaS, PaaS and cloud networking services.
• Ensure cloud platforms remain secure, resilient, available and high performing.
• Manage cloud monitoring and event management through Azure Monitor, including alert tuning and performance optimisation.
• Deliver infrastructure automation and proactive maintenance activities.
• Drive cost optimisation initiatives through resource management, right-sizing and improved visibility of cloud spend.
• Support backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions, including resilience and restore testing.
• Provide second and third-line support for cloud and infrastructure incidents.
• Apply security hardening and patching in line with security and architecture standards.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and support continuous improvement across the Azure estate.
