Job summary

Victrex is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our Infrastructure & Networks team. You will manage and optimise our Microsoft Azure environment, build automation, strengthen security and drive cost efficiency across the global cloud estate.

You will work across IaaS, PaaS, networking, DR tests, and monitoring with Azure Monitor, delivering reliable, scalable and compliant cloud services to support our automotive, aerospace, energy and industrial markets.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting and administering Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure, networking and cloud operations.
• Experience of backup, recovery, disaster recovery and resilience testing.
• Understanding of cloud security principles, patch management and infrastructure best practice.
• Experience of cloud cost management and optimisation.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continual improvement.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Microsoft Azure environments, including IaaS, PaaS and cloud networking services.
• Ensure cloud platforms remain secure, resilient, available and high performing.
• Manage cloud monitoring and event management through Azure Monitor, including alert tuning and performance optimisation.
• Deliver infrastructure automation and proactive maintenance activities.
• Drive cost optimisation initiatives through resource management, right-sizing and improved visibility of cloud spend.
• Support backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions, including resilience and restore testing.
• Provide second and third-line support for cloud and infrastructure incidents.
• Apply security hardening and patching in line with security and architecture standards.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and support continuous improvement across the Azure estate.
