Job summary

Hays Technology is seeking an Azure Cloud Migration Engineer on a contract basis to move a critical business application from on-premises to Azure. You will design, build, test, and deploy Azure infrastructure with a focus on security, resilience, and operational efficiency.

You will collaborate with the Lead Technical Architect and vendor teams, and work remotely with occasional meetings in London. The role requires hands-on cloud migration experience in complex or regulated environments,

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Azure cloud migration projects.
• Deep understanding of Azure compute, storage and landing zones.
• Knowledge of Azure Networking and Hybrid Connectivity solutions.
• Experience with Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) and Identity & Access Management.
• Strong grasp of Azure Security best practices and tools.
• Experience implementing Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery strategies.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
• Skills in Monitoring, Logging, and Operational Support.
• Experience working in regulated or mission-critical environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discovery, technical assessment, and detailed migration planning to ensure smooth transition.
• Design, build, and configure Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking components.
• Implement security controls, identity management, and operational services to maintain compliance and security standards.
• Execute migration activities, including cutover and rollback procedures, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Support resilience testing, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans to ensure high availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and migration issues promptly to maintain project timelines.
• Develop comprehensive technical documentation and operational handover materials for ongoing support.
• Collaborate closely with architects, Microsoft teams, and third‑party vendors throughout the project lifecycle.

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Migration Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team on a contractual basis.
