Job summary

Hays Technology is seeking an Azure Cloud Migration Engineer on a contract basis to support moving a critical business application from on-premises to Microsoft Azure. You will design, build, test, and support Azure infrastructure under the Lead Technical Architect, ensuring secure and resilient cloud operations.

The ideal candidate has strong Azure migration experience, IaC skills with Terraform/Bicep, and a background in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Strong background in cloud migration with Azure services.
• Certifications in Azure are highly desirable.
• Experience deploying and managing Azure infrastructure, networking and security.
• Familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform and Bicep.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, monitoring and logging in regulated or mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Support discovery phase with technical assessments and migration planning.
• Build, configure and optimize Azure infrastructure components (compute, storage, landing zones, networking).
• Implement identity management, monitoring, and operational services for high availability and security.
• Lead migration activities, including cutover planning, execution and rollback procedures.
• Conduct resilience testing, backup validation and disaster recovery drills.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and migration issues and provide technical support.
• Produce technical documentation and handover materials for ongoing support.
• Collaborate with architects, Microsoft teams and vendors for successful delivery.

About The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Migration Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team on a contractual basis.
