Morson Edge is seeking a talented Cloud Engineer with strong Microsoft Azure and Infrastructure as Code expertise to join our growing cloud engineering team. This role involves designing, automating, and supporting enterprise-scale cloud platforms that underpin critical business services, working alongside architecture, security, and delivery teams.

The contract is inside IR35 and requires you to be on site about 50% of the time, with base locations in Scotland, Hampshire or Berkshire.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Extensive Terraform IaC experience.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Azure networking, security, identity, governance.
  • Scripting in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage Terraform IaC solutions.
  • Implement and optimise cloud platform services for scale and security.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Automate provisioning, deployments, and monitoring.
  • Monitor cloud platforms and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Support platform maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with security teams on governance and compliance.
  • Contribute to cloud migration and transformation programmes.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Cloud Engineer with strong Microsoft Azure and Infrastructure as Code expertise to join a growing cloud engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in designing, automating, and supporting enterprise-scale cloud platforms that underpin critical business services.

Working alongside architecture, security, and delivery teams, you will help drive cloud transformation initiatives, improve platform reliability, and promote modern engineering practices across a complex technology environment.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work, automation, continuous improvement, and solving complex cloud infrastructure challenges.

This contract will be inside IR35 and require you to work on site 50% on the time during the contract. The contract can be based in Scotland, Hampshire or Berkshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
  • Implement and optimise cloud platform services, ensuring scalability, security, and resilience.
  • Build and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, monitoring, and operational activities.
  • Monitor cloud platforms, investigate alerts, and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Support platform maintenance, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Work closely with security teams to implement governance, compliance, and vulnerability remediation initiatives.
  • Contribute to cloud migration, modernisation, and transformation programmes.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting and engineering Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Extensive Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure networking, security, identity, and governance.
  • Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar.
  • Experience operating and supporting enterprise cloud platforms within production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
  • Understanding of high availability, resilience, disaster recovery, and platform reliability principles.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Kubernetes, AKS, OpenShift, or other container platforms.
  • Exposure to AWS or multi-cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimisation practices.
