Job summary

Capgemini's Cloud & Custom Applications (C&CA) practice seeks an AWS Solution Architect in London to shape and deliver future-ready digital solutions for Financial Services. You will provide architecture leadership, engage stakeholders, and drive measurable outcomes across complex programs.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in solution architecture, technical design, and software delivery across complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to lead architecture decisions from concept through implementation and operational adoption.
  • Experience designing API-led, integration-focused, and event-driven solutions.
  • Strong technical leadership with the ability to guide, mentor, and influence multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing end-to-end project and delivery lifecycles in client-facing environments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on delivering business value.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery outcomes.
  • Understanding of modern software engineering principles, architecture patterns, and integration approaches.
  • Experience within the Insurance sector, particularly Commercial Insurance or the London Market, is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and delivery of complex business solutions, ensuring alignment with client objectives and enterprise strategy.
  • Create high-quality solution and architecture designs that translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and external partners to drive successful programme delivery.
  • Design integrations and end-to-end solution approaches that support business growth, resilience, and operational efficiency.
  • Promote architectural best practices, governance standards, and consistent delivery excellence across programmes.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, improve maintainability, and enable future business capabilities.
  • Maximise reuse of existing services, assets, and data capabilities where appropriate to accelerate delivery and reduce risk.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to delivery teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Proactively manage delivery risks, dependencies, and issues while maintaining transparency with stakeholders.
  • Champion AI-fluent ways of working and contribute to developing a future‑ready workforce across teams and client engagements.

Join Capgemini's Cloud & Custom Applications (C&CA) practice as an AWS Solution Architect, where you will help clients shape and deliver future-ready digital solutions. Working within the Financial Services Business Unit, you will combine architecture leadership, stakeholder engagement, and delivery expertise to design scalable, resilient, and business-aligned solutions. Hybrid working

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

Must‑Have Skills

  • Apigee or comparable API management platforms.
  • REST API development and management.
  • Python development skills.
  • Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum.
  • ServiceNow, Confluence, and Jira.
  • AWS, architecture, or cloud‑related certifications.
  • Experience supporting enterprise transformation and cloud modernisation initiatives.
