Job description

Capgemini Financial Services is seeking a talented and experienced AWS Architect in Knutsford for a full‑time hybrid role.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Design and implement largescale distributed systems with a focus on resiliency, scalability and observability
  • Define cloud native strategies and architectures for enterprise applications
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Create technical design specifications, reference architectures and reusable patterns
  • Drive adoption of DevOps practices, CICD pipelines and automation across teams
  • Lead and mentor teams in Agile delivery models and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and lifecycle
  • Databases – Strong expertise in PostgreSQL plus experience with NoSQL (DynamoDB, Document DB)
  • Infrastructure as Code – Hands‑on experience with Terraform and GitLab CICD
  • Microservices / Containers – Deep knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration and containerized solutions
  • DevOps Tools – Jenkins, GitLab and integration with various CICD tools
  • Application Design – API‑first and event‑driven architectures and prior hands‑on experience with Kafka ecosystem
  • Observability / Monitoring – Familiarity with tools for logging, metrics and tracing, especially ELK and other observe tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for simplifying complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to articulate technical solutions to business leaders and influence decision‑making
  • Proven experience working with global distributed teams in enterprise environments
  • Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge of data modelling best practices and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Atlassian tools JIRA and Confluence for project tracking and documentation
  • Ability to own and drive projects end‑to‑end in an Agile environment
  • Familiarity with ecosystem and platforms for faster onboarding
  • Understanding of financial services domain, especially credit cards
  • Knowledge of TOGAF principles and enterprise architecture frameworks
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Associate preferred
