Job summary

CDL IT Solutions Limited, Stockport, seeks an Intermediate Platform Engineer to design, build and operate cloud platforms using AWS, IaC and CI/CD practices. You will work in Platform Engineering Squad 3, delivering reliable, scalable services while collaborating with security, architecture and engineering teams.

You will leverage AI-assisted tools such as Kiro, GitLab Duo and Microsoft Copilot to accelerate delivery, improve code quality and automate repetitive tasks, within a hybrid working

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms, AWS
• Understanding Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to investigate and resolve infrastructure and platform issues
• Experience planning and delivering infrastructure tasks, upgrades and migrations
• Understanding of cloud networking, security and identity management concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools (Kiro, GitLab Duo, Microsoft Copilot)
• Ability to leverage AI outputs with engineering judgment
• Interest in adopting emerging technologies to improve productivity
• AWS certifications desirable
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support cloud infrastructure and platform services
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure, platform and application performance issues
• Design, implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations and modernisation initiatives
• Contribute to reliability, availability and security of platform services
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and reduce operational effort
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver technical solutions
• Contribute to incident, problem and change management activities
• Research and evaluate new technologies, tools and approaches to improve platform capabilities
• Utilise AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity and efficiency
