Job summary

IBU seeks a hands-on Technology Lead to modernise a large-scale Java enterprise application into a secure, scalable, cloud-native platform on AWS. The role blends solution architecture, software engineering, database expertise, DevOps and customer-facing technical leadership.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in enterprise technology, architecture or software engineering leadership.
• Strong hands-on AWS cloud architecture and application modernisation experience.
• Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices and distributed systems.
• Hands-on DynamoDB and Aurora PostgreSQL data modelling and migration.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Java application modernisation, including microservices, API-first, serverless and event-driven architecture.
• Define target architecture, modernisation roadmap, technical standards and engineering best practices.
• Design and implement AWS solutions using ECS, Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, S3 and CloudWatch.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, Python and TypeScript.
• Mentor engineering teams and coordinate architects, developers, DevOps and database specialists across distributed workstreams.
• Drive observability, security, resilience, performance and production-readiness standards.
