TXP is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer (SC Cleared) for a remote, six‑month contract. You will design, build and maintain secure cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines across Docker, Kubernetes and microservices in AWS.
You will collaborate with Agile teams, apply DevSecOps practices, and travel across the UK occasionally. The role requires hands-on Terraform/CloudFormation expertise and experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
Role Type: Contract. Location: Remote, with occasional travel across the UK. Contract Length: Initial six months.
TXP is working with a client seeking experienced cloud and DevOps professionals to support the delivery of secure, dependable digital services. The client’s teams build and operate cloud platforms for containerised, microservices-based applications, working collaboratively across development, quality assurance and operations. This contract offers the opportunity to contribute to cloud engineering work where security, service reliability and effective delivery practices are essential.
As an AWS DevOps Engineer, you will design, build, automate and support cloud infrastructure and the delivery processes that underpin modern applications. You will work closely with development and QA colleagues in Agile teams to improve how software is built, tested, released and operated. The role requires practical AWS expertise, active Security Check (SC) clearance and a strong understanding of secure cloud engineering.
You will help create and maintain infrastructure as code, develop and optimise continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, and support Docker, Kubernetes and microservices environments. You will also contribute to monitoring, performance, security and reliability improvements across the platform. This is a remote contract with occasional UK-wide travel, offered initially for six months.
Candidates must hold active SC clearance and have strong, hands‑on experience designing, implementing or supporting AWS environments. You should be confident using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation to define and manage infrastructure as code, and have practical experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
Applicants should have experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux administration and applications built around microservices. A sound understanding of cloud security and DevSecOps principles is required, together with experience contributing to Agile delivery teams. The ability to communicate clearly, collaborate across technical disciplines and take a structured approach to troubleshooting is important.
Experience on government or GDS projects, an AWS certification, familiarity with Java-based applications, or experience creating automated testing environments with Selenium or Cucumber would be advantageous.
This contract offers an initial six-month engagement, remote working and the opportunity to contribute to secure cloud platforms alongside multidisciplinary teams. The role provides scope to apply and develop your AWS, infrastructure-as-code, containerisation and delivery automation expertise on practical, complex engineering work. Occasional travel may be required across the UK. Further contract terms, including compensation and any additional arrangements, can be discussed during the application process.
TXP welcomes applications from qualified candidates with varied backgrounds and experiences. Selection will be based on relevant skills, experience and the role requirements, including the requirement for active SC clearance. We are committed to a fair and respectful recruitment process.
