Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant for Amarna House Care Home in Acomb, York. You’ll support the Wellbeing Coordinator in delivering activities to engage residents across physical, cognitive, and social well-being, in a warm and caring home environment.

Key duties include maintaining a safe environment, reporting changes to care staff, assisting with supplies, and building links with local communities to promote intergenerational activities.

Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Understanding of how interaction supports well-being.
• Positive attitude toward older people and commitment to stimulating activities.
• Experience with older people in residential dementia settings (advantage).

Responsibilities

• Support the Wellbeing Coordinator by delivering a range of activities to engage residents physically, cognitively and socially.
• Maintain a safe living and working environment and contribute to the home’s professional image.
• Report changes in residents’ condition to relevant staff.
• Assist with arranging supplies and linking with the local community for intergenerational activities.
