Job summary

JMC Aviation Limited in Birmingham is actively recruiting an Avionics Technician to support maintenance activities in a safety‑conscious and compliant aviation environment. The role focuses on avionics systems, testing, and integration to ensure reliability and regulatory adherence.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team, perform wiring and installation tasks, interpret manuals, and uphold stringent safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Completed an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent in aeronautical engineering or military technical trades.
• Strong knowledge of avionics systems and maintenance practices.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and security vetting may be required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out modifications and maintenance in line with approved drawings and maintenance data, ensuring technical integrity of all work.
• Perform precise wiring terminations and testing.
• Remove and install shelves, panels, and equipment as required.
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics and regulatory requirements.
• Manufacture and test looms, and support avionics system testing, validation and troubleshooting.
• Maintain high standards of tool control and a safe, clean work environment.

About the Role

On behalf of our client, a leading organisation in the aviation industry, we are currently recruiting for an Avionics Technician to support their maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities

• Carry out modifications and maintenance in accordance with approved drawings and maintenance data, taking full accountability for the technical integrity of all work performed
• Precise wiring terminations and testing
• Removal and installation of various shelves, panels and equipment
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics and regulatory requirements
• Loom manufacture and testing
• Support avionics system testing, validation and troubleshooting
• Maintain the highest standards of tool control within the work area
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment

Candidate Requirements

• Completed an engineering apprenticeship, ideally in aeronautical engineering or military equivalent
• Excellent knowledge of avionics systems
• Right to live and work in the UK
• Subject to UK security vetting
