Job summary

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Engineering Technician on behalf of one of our clients. The role involves repair and overhaul of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment, covering avionics, communications, navigation, and test box manufacture, with a focus on compliance and timely delivery.

Ideal candidates will have a Level 3 qualification or advanced apprenticeship, a military equivalent or recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship, and proven practical

Qualifications

• Holds relevant level 3 qualification and advanced/higher apprenticeship.
• A nationally recognised Electrical/Electronic engineering apprenticeship or Military equivalent.
• Practical engineering experience within your discipline or specialist area.
• We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and well organised candidate who can manage numerous tasks/projects individually and as part of the wider team.
• You will be required to engage with various internal and external stakeholders/customers.
• Working knowledge of health and safety within a workshop environment.
• Where the role involves some handling of chemicals you will follow the COSHH guidelines and PPE will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform self-directed test, diagnostics, repair, maintenance, modification, calibration and manufacture of equipment down to module / individual component level using approved engineering documentation and techniques.
• Hold self-certification, over-signing, certifying & conditioning of equipment responsibilities (e.g. serviceable / unserviceable / scrap).
• Supervision, training and over-signing of junior / equivalent grade staff & apprentices.
• Carry out feasibility and development activity, including the reverse engineering and creation of supporting engineering documentation / test procedures.
• Use a combination of different IT software.
• Provide specialist advice as required.
• Work within a scheme of engineering governance.
