Job summary

AtkinsRéalis’ Design & Advanced Technology (D&AT) Practice in the UK seeks a Technical Director to lead the Airport Planning and Airfield Civil Engineering team. You will drive technical excellence, client relationships, and people development across major UK and Ireland airport programmes, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Dublin.

You will shape strategy for aviation projects, manage complex infrastructure challenges and travel nationwide, with hybrid work and offices in Epsom,

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent in Airport Planning, Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Aviation Management or related field.
Proven track record leading major airport development programmes from planning to implementation.
Strong network in aviation sector with ability to build trusted client relationships.
Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills with senior executives.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow the Airport Planning and Airfield Civil Engineering team, setting direction and developing capability.
Build and maintain relationships with airport operators and aviation stakeholders.
Provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of airport projects from concept to delivery.
Guide development across airport planning, airside, landside and civil engineering designs for expansion and resilience.
Mentor future leaders and represent the business externally through client engagement and industry forums.
