Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is hiring an Aviation Security Officer at our Broughton site. The role offers a 4 on/off permanent night shift pattern with a pay rate of £14.88 per hour and an average of 42 hours per week. Nights only, with interview-determined start/finish times.

The position requires a UK driving licence, eligibility for SC clearance, and the ability to pass colour-deficiency testing. You will perform access control, monitor entry points, and coordinate with emergency

Qualifications

• Current UK Driving Licence (no endorsements).
• Willing and able to achieve SC Clearance.
• Right to work in the UK and ability to pass a colour deficiency test at interview.
• Willing to work 12-hour shifts, nights only, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Carry out access control duties and ensure only authorised personnel and vehicles enter the Security Restricted Area.
• Manage entry/exit posts by checking IDs and documentation.
• Control Airside vehicular access and prevent unauthorised vehicles.
• Undertake patrols, escort and ensure safety of persons, vehicles and high-value cargoes.
• Use radio/phone to liaise with Police, Immigration and emergency services as needed.
• Report aviation security incidents and submit reports.
• Promote a high standard of Customer Care and present Mitie professionally.

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carry out access control duties and ensure only authorised personnel and vehicles enter the Security Restricted Area.
• Manage all entry and exit posts by checking ID cards and any required documentation.
• Control Airside vehicular access, including the prevention of unauthorised vehicles.
• Undertake patrols, escort and ensure safety of all persons, vehicle and high value cargoes to specific locations within the airport.
• Use radio/telephone and liaise with and summon assistance from Police, Immigration and other emergency services as necessary.
• Report aviation security incidents and submitting clear reports.
• Encourage a high standard of Customer Care, advise and assist stakeholders on general enquiries and promote a positive and professional image of Mitie.
• Essential Skills
• Right to work in the UK, 5-year checkable history and pass a high level of security clearance.
• Hold a current clean UK Driving Licence.
• Be able to implement, Airport Byelaws and to deal with offenders.
• Willing to undergo a colour deficiency test at interview as must clearly define colours to interpret X-Ray.
• Productively take instruction and carry out tasks thoroughly and consistently.
• Good attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Willing to undergo any relevant training, work weekends and 12-hour shifts - Nights only.

Face to face interviews will be held and a colour deficiency test will be taken, please inform us if you require any reasonable adjustments.
