Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is recruiting for an Aviation Security Duty Manager. The role has a four-on-four-off shift system with 12‑hour duties, rotating days and nights, averaging about 42 hours per week.

You will supervise all shift personnel, maintain compliance with regulators and company standards, and report daily to the senior MITIE manager. Candidates should have prior management of complex operations, excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct responsibility for all supervisors and security agents on shift.
• Maintain the professional level of the operation.
• Ensure full compliance with regulator, airport, and MITIE standards.
• Maintain client and company procedures.
• Daily reporting with the MITIE senior manager on all operational areas and concerns.
• Log and address disciplinary or performance issues promptly.
• Perform other duties as directed by the senior manager.
• Ensure MITIE services meet customer requirements and CAA procedures.
• Promote MITIE positively with customers and staff.
• Ensure adequate manning and equipment for operations.
• Handle any personnel issues during shifts.
• Foster effective communication with all supervisors.

AVIATION SECURITY DUTY MANAGER

Four on four off shift system, rotating between days and nights. 12hr shifts. Twelve hours per duty with an average of forty two hours per week.

Must have been in the UK over 3 years

Must have a clean Criminal Record

Salary range: £38k - £42,230

Job Role

• Have direct responsibility for all supervisors and security agents on shift, ensuring all contractual shifts and positions are covered with fully trained security agents.
• Maintain the professional level of the operation.
• Achieve and maintain full compliance with the regulator, airport, and MITIE standards.
• Maintenance of client and company procedures
• Daily reporting with the MITIE senior manager on all operational areas and concerns.
• Report and log any disciplinary or performance issues as soon as they arise.
• To perform any other duties as directed by the senior manager.
• Ensure quality of services provided by MITIE matches customer requirements.
• Ensure all CAA procedures are maintained.
• Promote MITIE positively with customers and their staff.
• Ensuring sufficient manning / equipment is available to carry out operations to expected standards.
• Deal with any problems that arise amongst personnel during shift.
• Consult with all supervisors to ensure effective communication levels are maintained.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all equipment testing is carried out.
• All paperwork is checked for completeness and compliance with site requirements.
• Ensure the identification process is followed in line with requirements, with a focus on ID passes and validation against requirements.
• Staff assessments carried out against the set number of disciplines.
• Surveillance and patrol requirements are met as per the site strategy along with incident reporting.
• Proactive management of the employee resource.
• Oversee all HR processes for the team.
• Daily team management to ensure standards and compliance are maintained and exceeded.
