Our client is a dynamically growing company in the Air Chartering business with a diverse fleet operating worldwide. Our client is an international company offering exposure to various markets and jurisdictions from around the world.

Our client, located at Diamond Hangar Stansted Airport, is looking for a Safety Manager to join their Safety and Compliance team, reporting to the Accountable Manager.

Main Duties:

  1. Develop, establish, and manage the Safety Management System.
  2. Ensure that the Safety Management Manual, Hazard Log, and Safety Key Performance Indicators are developed and maintained.
  3. Manage the Flight Data Monitoring programme.
  4. Develop and keep updated the Emergency Response Plan and procedures, and organize and participate in actual or practice emergency responses.
  5. Initiate and follow-up on internal occurrence/accident investigations.
  6. Facilitate hazard identification, safety risk analysis, and management.
  7. Administer safety-related and fatigue risk surveys.
  8. Plan and facilitate staff safety training, ensuring it meets applicable standards.
  9. Act as facilitator of the SRB and SAG meetings.
  10. Maintain appropriate organizational aviation safety records and statistics as required by regulations.
  11. Periodically update the Accountable Manager on the status of the company’s SMS through reports and safety meetings.
  12. Responsible for the upkeep and revision of the Safety Management Manual.
  13. Conduct scheduled Safety Management Audits.
  14. Represent the company (on behalf of the Accountable Manager) with Civil Aviation Authorities and other organizations on safety matters.

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

  1. Management system principles training, including safety management, safety policy, human factors, and compliance monitoring; MOE Training; Part 145 training.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of Part 145 requirements and procedures.
  3. EU management system requirements and their application, including safety management systems and compliance monitoring.
  4. At least 12 months of experience in Aerospace Safety Management Functions, preferably in an EASA 145 environment.
  5. Holds an engineering degree, or has held CPL, ATPL, Flight Dispatchers qualification, Part 66 license, or Recognized Aerospace Apprenticeship.
  6. Knowledge of aircraft types maintained within the scope of approval, demonstrated by training or assessment by the competent authority.
  7. Attended a recognized course in auditing techniques or holds a recognized auditing qualification.
  8. Knowledge of ICAO Annexes, standards, and recommended practices.
  9. Knowledge of aviation regulations, especially European Commission Regulations and EASA AMCs and GMs.
  10. Knowledge of accident/incident/occurrence investigations and root cause analysis, demonstrated by training or assessment.
  11. Knowledge of hazard identification and risk management, demonstrated by training or assessment.
  12. Ability and confidence to communicate directly with the Accountable Manager as an advisor and confidante.

The Safety Manager’s qualifications and experience are subject to acceptance by EASA & UKCAA through the Resume & Form 4 Interview process.
