Job summary

Menzies Aviation Birmingham is seeking a refuelling operative to support aircraft turnaround at the airport. You will attend and refuel passenger aircraft by tanker, following service level agreements and airline procedures.

The role requires a valid LGV C+E and Class 2 driving licence, strong numeracy and literacy, and a flexible, team-focused approach. Aircraft refuelling experience is desirable but training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence with LGV C+E and Class 2 required.
• High standard of numeracy and literacy skills are necessary.
• Good team working skills and flexibility are essential.
• Aircraft refuelling experience is desirable but training will be provided.
• Must have a checkable five-year employment or educational history.
• Excellent leadership, personal and communication skills are essential.
• Health, safety and environmental awareness are important in this role.

Responsibilities

• Attend and refuel aircraft by tanker/bowser as directed by Allocators/Supervisor or Daily Worksheet.
• Operate in accordance with Airport, Health & Safety, HM Customs, Security, and MA ASIG procedures.
• Operate on-board aircraft switches in accordance with ASIG/Airline procedure.
• Record data manually and/or by computer.
• Conduct vehicle checks with designated quality control procedures and report defects.
• Ensure vehicles are serviced with diesel/gas oil and lubricants as needed.
• Maintain regular radio/telephone contact for flight information and communications.
• Carry out other tasks as directed by Supervisor or regional manager.
