Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Senior Mechanical Supervisor at RAF Valley, Isle of Anglesey, to lead and oversee aircraft and component maintenance. You will assign tasks, authorize work, and ensure airworthiness while guiding a mechanical team in a highly regulated aviation environment.

You will sign off work within defined boundaries, maintain safety and quality standards, and drive performance against delivery targets on a 36-hour early shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Supervise mechanical maintenance in aviation, with hands-on leadership.
• Evidence of currency and recency through a maintained logbook.
• Knowledge of aviation safety standards and approved procedures.
• Ability to sign off work within defined trade boundaries.
• Engineering apprenticeship completed or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise mechanical maintenance on aircraft and components.
• Delegate tasks, authorise work, ensure airworthiness.
• Diagnose faults, conduct inspections and component changes.
• Monitor progress and escalate issues to meet targets.
• Provide technical guidance and people management.
• Ensure work complies with technical information, safety and regulatory procedures.
