Job summary

Chevron Recruitment Agency seeks a Duty Manager in Luton to lead daily line maintenance shifts, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of activities during duty periods.

The role requires UK CAA Part-66 licence (B1/B2) and Category C qualification, with extensive supervisory experience in base maintenance and a strong safety culture. You will mentor staff and coordinate with planning, logistics and customers.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship within aircraft industry or similar discipline.
• UK CAA Part-66 Licence, B1 or B2, and a Category C Licence with at least two aircraft types on the company’s approval.
• Minimum 5 years’ management experience within a Part-145 base maintenance environment.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• IOSH Managing Safely course completed.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Station Manager when required and assume the responsibilities outlined within the Station Manager Job Description.
• Act as the operational lead during the duty period, taking accountability for shift safety, operational performance and service delivery.
• Lead and supervise shift operations to ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company and customer requirements.
• Make sound operational decisions to support aircraft serviceability, operational performance and customer expectations.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination across operational teams, customers, Planning and Logistics functions, and management.
• Support operational meetings, customer visits, audits, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support station administrative duties and operational projects as assigned by the Station Manager.
• Review and approve temporary labour timesheets and overtime requests where authorised.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, PPE compliance, professionalism and workplace discipline.
• Ensure effective shift handovers through accurate written and verbal communication, maintaining clear operational records.
• Promote a positive and proactive safety culture, encouraging hazard identification and occurrence reporting.
