Job summary

London Luton Airport Operations Ltd is seeking a dedicated Aviation Firefighter on a 12‑month fixed-term contract to carry out rescue and firefighting duties at Luton Airport and beyond the boundary. You will respond to reported incidents, administer first aid if required, and maintain the readiness of emergency response equipment as part of the Emergency Fire Service.

Ideal candidates will have CAA aviation firefighting qualifications, strong communication and teamwork skills, and a flexible

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid certificate of competence as an Aviation Firefighter.
• Aviation firefighting qualifications per CAA standards.
• First aid certification required.
• Must be 18 or older and medically fit.
• Teaching / Assessor qualifications where required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in aircraft incidents involving rescue and firefighting to control or contain the incident.
• Respond to emergencies involving aircraft during airport operating hours.
• Assist in firefighting off-airfield incidents as required by supervisor.
• Provide First Aid / humanitarian assistance as needed.
• Maintain readiness of emergency response vehicles and equipment.
• Carry out equipment checks and ensure tools are fit for purpose.
• Attend training courses to maintain competencies and qualifications.
• Deliver fire safety training and information to staff and visitors.
