On behalf of our client, we are seeking an Aviation Fire Fighter & Ground Handler to join their team on a permanent basis.
Role Details
- Position: Aviation Fire Fighter & Ground Handler
- Pay: On Application
- Location: South West London
- Hours: 4 days on, 4 days off rotation (times may vary to meet operational needs)
- Status: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency situations as part of the Heliport RFFS team, following the Heliport Manual and Emergency Orders.
- Carry out checks on PPE, RPE, equipment, vehicles, and stock control, including firefighting media and aviation fuel, reporting deficiencies to supervisors.
- Perform passenger and baggage handling, fuel quality checks, aircraft marshalling, and mechanical handling.
- Conduct light maintenance tasks such as sweeping, snow clearance, weeding, painting, and signage.
- Train and act as Watch Manager (WM), supervising the RFFS team when qualified.
- Deputise for the SAFO in their absence as needed.
- Undergo initial and recurrent training in helicopter and passenger handling, fire-fighting, casualty rescue, and First Aid, as per the Heliport Manual Volume 2 RFFS.
Experience & Qualifications
- UK driving license
- Physical fitness
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- IT literacy (Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Previous aviation fire fighting experience
Desirable Skills
- Current Breathing Apparatus Wearer Competency
- Cat C1 Driving license
- First Aid at Work certification
- Aviation ground handling experience
Additional Information
- Heliport operating hours: 07:30 - 19:30
- RFFS operating hours: 06:30 - 19:30
- Shift pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off, with possible early or late extensions up to 23:00 to meet operational needs.
