Job description

Job Title: Aviation Fire Fighter & Ground Handler

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a dedicated Aviation Fire Fighter & Ground Handler to join their team on a permanent basis.

Details:

• Pay: On Application
• Location: South West London
• Hours: 4 days on, 4 days off rotation; times will cover operational requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to emergency situations as part of the Heliport RFFS team, following the Heliport Manual and Emergency Orders.
• Conduct checks and inspections on PPE, RPE, equipment, vehicles, and stock control, reporting deficiencies to supervisors.
• Perform passenger and baggage handling, fuel quality checks, aircraft marshalling, and mechanical handling.
• Carry out light maintenance duties such as sweeping, snow clearance, weeding, painting, and signage.
• Train and act as Watch Manager when appropriately qualified, supervising the RFFS team.
• Undertake initial and recurrent training in areas including helicopter handling, fire-fighting, casualty handling, and First Aid.

Experience and Qualifications:

• UK driving license
• Physically fit
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• IT literacy (Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Previous aviation firefighter experience

Desirable Skills:

• Current Breathing Apparatus Wearer Competency
• Cat C1 driving license
• Minimum First Aid at Work certification
• Aviation ground handling experience

Additional Information:

• Heliport permitted operating hours: 07:30 - 19:30
• RFFS operating hours: 06:30 - 19:30

The shift pattern is a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation. Times may vary, with early or late extensions up to 23:00, to meet operational needs.
