Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in the Greater London area leads a major aviation project delivering airfield infrastructure and associated facilities. As Senior Field Engineer you will provide field engineering expertise, work planning, material management, safety and quality control, and subcontract coordination.

You will support project teams, mentor field personnel, and ensure design evolves with cost and schedule constraints while maintaining zero-accident safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Experience on live operational facilities and airfield works.
• Strong knowledge of HSE requirements and promoting safe working culture.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and problem‑solving under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Input into constructability reviews to optimise sequencing, logistics, and methodology.
• Coordinate with design consultants to reflect construction requirements in designs.
• Support site layouts, temporary works strategies, logistics and phasing plans.
• Develop construction execution plans, staffing strategies and resource estimates.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain for delivery strategies.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations in design and planning.
• Review and monitor quality control plans during design and construction.
