Job summary

Bechtel Corporation is expanding its UK Aviation capability in the Southeast and seeks seasoned professionals to join a Heathrow West airfield construction team. The role focuses on planning, coordination, and documentation to support the DCO process for a new runway and related facilities.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering/Construction Management background with up to 10 years’ relevant experience, strong HSE knowledge, and Chartered status or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Up to 10 years of relevant work experience in civil/airfield projects.
• Knowledge of construction methods, sequencing for civil and airfield works.
• Experience on airfield projects within live operational facilities.
• Strong knowledge of HSE requirements and safety culture.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent registration preferred.
• Experience in aviation or major transportation infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of UK CDM regulations and safety rules.
• Brownfield live-environment planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Input constructability reviews to optimise sequencing and logistics.
• Coordinate with design teams to reflect requirements in deliverables.
• Develop site layouts, temporary works, logistics and phasing plans.
• Support construction execution plans, staffing and resource estimates.
• Ensure HSE considerations are embedded in design and planning.
• Draft construction methodologies to support planning.
• Monitor design evolution and impacts on methods, costs and schedules.
• Contribute to cost estimates, budgets and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with design on constructability issues.
• Support zero-accident philosophy across operations.
• Lead assigned construction management resource; mentor as needed.
