Job summary

Howden's Aviation team is seeking a junior data professional to support the Senior Data Analyst with data analysis, reporting and analytics for the aviation portfolio, helping translate business questions into data-driven insights.

For the first year you will be embedded with the central Data & Analytics team about 25% of the week, receiving formal training, tooling access (data lake, SQL) and hands-on guidance to apply analytics to aviation outcomes.

Qualifications

• A degree in a numerate or analytical subject (e.g., maths, statistics, data science).
• Strong attention to detail and logical thinking.
• Genuine interest in how data can influence business decisions.
• Confidence explaining ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Keen on learning AI tools and keeping up with a fast-moving landscape.

Responsibilities

• Understand real-world problems and translate them into data/AI questions.
• Explore data ideas, prototype analyses, and shape user stories.
• Clean, analyse and validate data from multiple sources for accuracy and reliability.
• Spot patterns, trends and anomalies and explain their practical meaning.
• Create reports, dashboards and analytics to support brokers and senior management.
• Support AI-enabled tools to automate repetitive data tasks and accelerate reporting.
