Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Design Engineer - Aviation to join our Asset Intelligence team in Stansted. The role focuses on delivering compliant mechanical, electrical and public health designs for aviation projects, reporting to the Design Manager and aligning with client requirements and industry standards.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, refine subcontractor designs, and contribute to buildable, value-engineered solutions while adhering to our governance and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in building services design within aviation or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and client requirements.
• Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Support site visits, surveys and technical assessments with the design team.
• Assist in developing building services specifications and scopes of work.
• Coordinate with subcontractor design teams to refine and develop design solutions.
• Review subcontractor documents for completeness and quality.
• Support tendering and project delivery with technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and governance across activities.
• Maintain design documentation per the Business Management System (BMS).
• Support QA processes and health and safety standards in design work.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural and specialist designers for integrated design.
