Job summary

SCC is seeking an AV Project Manager to oversee delivery of AV projects from inception to completion. You will lead planning, procurement, installation, integration, and commissioning for various environments, ensuring client satisfaction and technical excellence.

Ideal candidates have proven AV project delivery experience, strong MS Office and MS Project skills, and familiarity with industry standards. The role offers hybrid working with core office hours and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Prince2 or equivalent project management qualification is advantageous
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification is advantageous
  • Proven experience managing AV projects with a track record of successful delivery
  • Strong technical knowledge of AV systems (video conferencing, control systems, digital signage, audio distribution)
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple AV projects
  • Outstanding communication skills with clients, vendors and internal teams
  • Experience working with AV industry partners, manufacturers and integrators
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project for planning and scheduling
  • Beneficial AV accreditations (Extron, Biamp, Q-Sys, Netgear, Poly)
  • Client-facing and client management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • AV Project Planning & Coordination
  • Lead the planning, procurement, installation, integration, and commissioning of AV systems for corporate, educational, and event environments
  • Define project scope, objectives and deliverables, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Act as primary client contact and coordinate with consultants and internal teams
  • Manage client expectations and ensure AV deliverables meet specifications
  • Develop and control project budgets and allocate resources effectively
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams including designers, engineers, programmers and subcontractors
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules and identify risks to keep projects on track
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and client handover packs
  • Provide regular progress updates to senior management and clients
  • Ensure AV installations comply with BS EN, AVIXA, safety and legal standards
  • Champion AV best practices in system integration and health & safety

Location: Yorkshire (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Package: £38,000- £45,000 plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year

Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm, Monday – Friday

Role Purpose

To oversee and manage the successful delivery of AV (Audio Visual) collaboration projects from inception to completion, ensuring technical excellence, client satisfaction, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • AV Project Planning & Coordination
  • Lead the planning, procurement, installation, integration, and commissioning of AV systems for corporate, educational, and event-based environments.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring all AV solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
  • Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure all AV deliverables meet or exceed specifications.
  • Budget & Resource Management
  • Develop and control project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost management across all project phases.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams including AV designers, engineers, programmers, and subcontractors.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Timeline & Milestone Management
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules, proactively identifying and resolving risks to keep AV projects on track.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical drawings, change orders, commissioning reports, and client handover packs.
  • Provide regular progress updates to senior management and clients.
  • Compliance, Quality & Safety
  • Ensure all AV installations comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., BS EN, AVIXA), safety protocols, and legal requirements.
  • Champion best practices in AV system integration and health & safety.
Skills And Experience
  • Prince2 or equivalent project management qualification (advantageous).
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification (advantageous – but training will be provided), demonstrating a strong commitment to health and safety management in AV project environments.
  • Proven experience managing AV projects with a track record of successful delivery.
  • Strong technical knowledge of AV systems (e.g., video conferencing, control systems, digital signage, audio distribution) and familiarity with the latest AV technologies and trends.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to manage multiple AV projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Experience working with AV industry partners, manufacturers, and integrators.
  • Competency with the Microsoft platform, including Excel, Teams, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project for project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Beneficial if any AV-specific accreditations are held (e.g. Extron, Biamp, Q-Sys, Netgear, Poly, etc.)
  • Client-facing and client management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
