Job summary

IN2-AV Recruitment is seeking an experienced AV Commissioning Engineer to take ownership of high-end projects and join a top-tier team across the UK and Europe.

You will oversee on-site commissioning, testing, reporting, and project closure, balancing hands-on work with documentation. A CTS certification and 4+ years in AV are required, with a driving licence and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of solid AV industry experience.
• CTS certification is essential; CTS-I is a bonus.
• A clean driving licence is required.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask and solve on-site challenges.
• Desirable: Crestron P101/P102, QSC, Extron or control system programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning and testing on-site across projects and systems.
• Reporting and management of closure reports, as-built vs. drawn updates, and client training.
• Ad‑hoc: stock management for van/equipment and revision-control of files.
• Attend monthly improvement and team meetings and contribute to project closure.
• Support and coordinate with delivery and engineering teams on-site when needed.

If you are an experienced AV Commissioning Engineer looking for a role where you can actually take ownership of your projects and work with a top‑tier team, this one is worth a look.

I am working with a fast‑growing audio‑visual systems integrator (now circa 45 people) with a busy pipeline of high‑end projects across the UK and Europe. The culture here is excellent, with sales, delivery, and engineering actually backing each other up and making a point of celebrating their wins together.

The Role

You will be responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and full on‑site commissioning of various AV systems, ensuring everything works to specification and meets the client's needs.

Your time will be split between hands‑on technical work and project closure:

• Commissioning and Testing (90%): Full on‑site commissioning, advanced configuration, off‑site testing, troubleshooting, clear reporting, and client training.
• Reporting and Management (10%): Vetting closure reports, managing "as‑built vs. as‑drawn" updates, and attending monthly improvement and team meetings.
• Ad‑Hoc: Van and equipment stock management, scheduling office days, and maintaining file structure/revision control.

What you will need

• At least 4 years of solid audio‑visual industry experience.
• Strong DSP programming skills (Biamp, Polycom, Extron, Crestron, or Shure).
• AVIXA CTS certification is essential (CTS‑I is a bonus).
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and problem‑solve on‑site without walking away from a challenge.
• A clean driving licence.
• Desirable: Crestron P101/P102, QSC, Extron, or control system programming skills.
