Job summary

Morson Group is seeking a reliable Auxiliary / Semi-Skilled Fitter to support workshop operations in South East London, focusing on cleaning and preparing mechanical parts for maintenance and repair. Role covers cleaning, degreasing, assisting skilled fitters, preparing parts for inspection, and upholding health and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have workshop experience and interest in engineering. On offer are night shifts Sunday to Wednesday 19:00-05:00, competitive hourly rates (£26.54

Qualifications

• Experience in workshop/engineering/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in engineering.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and degrease mechanical components using appropriate equipment and materials.
• Assist skilled fitters with basic fitting, assembly, and disassembly tasks.
• Prepare parts for inspection, servicing, and reassembly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Follow all health and safety procedures at all times.
• Identify and report any damaged or faulty components.
• Support general workshop duties as required.

Night shifts only:

Sunday to Wednesday evening – 19.00pm – 05.00am

Hourly rate: £26.54 umbrella / O/T £30.72

About the Role:

• Follow all health and safety procedures at all times
• Identify and report any damaged or faulty components
• Support general workshop duties as required

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a workshop, engineering, or manufacturing environment preferred
• Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in engineering
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Must have previously worked withn a similar role, within transport, rail, aerospace or automotive industry.
