Astute's Power Team is recruiting an Assistant Shift Operator for a new-build Energy from Waste Power Station in Tilbury, Essex. The role offers a salary up to £45,913 (including shift and location allowances) plus private medical, overtime and benefits.

You will monitor plant machinery, follow Safe System of Work, report incidents, and support production targets while embracing opportunities to improve safety and efficiency on site. 12-hour shifts are required.

Competenze

• Understanding of process/factory machinery.
• Health and safety qualification such as IOSH is advantageous.
• Mobile plant operation licences would be ideal.

Assistant Shift Operator

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit an Assistant Shift Operator to join their new-build Energy from Waste Power Station, currently in construction, in Tilbury, Essex.

The vital Assistant Shift Operations Technician role comes with a salary up to £45,913 (inclusive of shift allowance and location allowance) + private medical + overtime + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Assistant Shift Operations Technician role

• Monitoring and conducting plant checks on the machinery within site to ensure optimum performance is always maintained.
• Carry out and ensure all work is conducted in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines and Safe System of Work
• Follow company procedures in reporting accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Assist in reaching the daily production targets as defined by site management.
• Have a proactive approach to the improvements of operational and safety efficiencies within site
• Assist with loading and unloading operations
• Operation of mobile plant and machinery

Professional qualifications

• A formal qualification in and engineering discipline would be ideal but not a necessity
• A health and safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous
• Mobile plant operation licences would be ideal (forklift, counterbalance, etc)

Personal Skills, Prior Experience and Knowledge

• An Understanding of process/factory machinery.
• Ability to use sensory skills to monitor the running of machinery.
• Previous experience working within a process, production, or manufacturing environment.
• A proven track record of high performance in a similar industry
• Willing to work 12 hour shifts
