Job summary
NHS in Gateshead seeks a Trainee/ Qualified Anatomical Pathology Technician to carry out routine and advanced post mortem procedures, including preparation of the deceased for viewing, autopsy and police identification. Trainee will train to work towards the above role.
On qualification, participate in a 24/7 on-call rota across 3 SOTW sites with core shift patterns 8:00–16:00 or 8:30–16:30 depending on service needs.
Qualifications
- 3 GCSEs or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in a health care setting or funeral service.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine and advanced post mortem procedures.
- Prepare the deceased for viewing, autopsy and police identification.
- Provide specialist advice to users of the service within the Trust.
