Job summary

London Borough of Camden is seeking an Anatomical Pathology Technician to deliver a full range of mortuary duties, including admission, identification and secure storage of deceased bodies for postmortems. You will assist pathologists, including high‑risk forensic cases, and work out of hours when required under HTA guidance.

Applicants must hold a Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technician or equivalent APT qualification and have demonstrable mortuary experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent APT qualification is required.
• Experience in a mortuary setting is essential.
• Experience in high risk and forensic post-mortems is welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a full range of mortuary activities, including admission, identification, and storage of deceased bodies for postmortem in line with procedures.
• Assist pathologists with postmortem examinations, including high‑risk cases, and work out of hours on forensic cases when required.
• Work under HTA license and support the Coroner’s Office with viewings and identifications.
