Job summary

VIVO Defence Services is seeking an experienced Mechanical Door Engineer to own planned preventative maintenance and reactive works across RAF Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Feltwell. You will work autonomously as the primary engineer on site, with support from a fabric operative when working at heights.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will service and repair automatic and manual door systems, roller shutters and access control equipment, ensuring tasks are completed to timescales

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial or automatic doors and maintenance (PPM & reactive).
• Level 4 qualification in industrial doors or automated gates preferred; strong hands‑on experience also considered.
• IPAF and PASMA certifications for working at height; knowledge of electrical isolation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver maintenance activities scheduled by the helpdesk using a PDA system.
• Service, maintain and repair automatic doors, manual door systems and roller shutters; manage access control equipment.
• Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and comply with regulations and safety standards; perform both planned and reactive work, including out‑of‑hours as needed.
