Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer (Maritime Autonomy) in Portchester, UK.

You will design, develop, and integrate software for autonomous maritime platforms, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the lifecycle from concept to deployment. The role requires a strong background in C++ within Linux environments, experience with industrial control interfaces, and a willingness to travel ~5% as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related field.
Experience developing software using C++.
Experience in Linux-based development environments.
Experience integrating software with PLCs or industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, integrate, and maintain software for maritime control systems.
Develop interfaces between PLCs, power management, comms, and higher-level apps.
Perform software integration, verification, and testing across lifecycle.
Support lab integration, harbour and sea trials, commissioning and customer acceptance.
Collaborate with software, systems, hardware and test engineers across disciplines.
Produce technical documentation and maintain engineering records.
