Job summary

Purbeck Health Centre in Milton Keynes is looking for a Salaried General Practitioner to join our established practice. You will provide high-quality general medical services to our registered patients, working autonomously within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

This 6-session post offers a clear job plan, active involvement in governance and development, and opportunities for appraisal, ongoing training and NHS Pension entitlement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience in a UK GP Practice.
• Experience of managing a full range of routine and complex presentations independently.
• Experience of assessing and managing acute illness and clinical deterioration.
• Experience of providing ongoing care for patients with long-term conditions.
• Experience of safe prescribing and medicines management.
• Experience of completing clinical administration accurately and promptly, including referrals and results management.
• Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience of contributing to clinical governance activity, including audit or quality improvement.
• Experience of providing day-to-day clinical leadership, leading by example and supporting colleagues where appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Independently assess, diagnose and manage complex and routine presentations.
• Manage acute illness and deterioration safely and decisively.
• Provide ongoing care for patients with long-term conditions.
• Deliver face to face, telephone and online consultations as required.
• Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with local and national guidance.
• Refer patients to other services using agreed pathways.
• Review, interpret and act on investigation results.
• Complete clinical administration accurately and in a timely way.
• Maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
