Job summary

Willow Recruit is partnering with a well-established business in Harrogate to recruit an experienced Credit Controller. You will manage your own ledger, chase payments, and maintain strong customer relationships, working closely with colleagues to resolve queries and support the wider finance function.

The ideal candidate will have end-to-end credit control experience, excellent communication skills, be highly organised and proficient in Excel.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end credit control processes.
• Confidently communicating with customers to negotiate payments.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage workload.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own portfolio of customer accounts and drive timely payments.
• Chase overdue payments by phone and email while maintaining good relationships.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries.
• Allocate incoming payments and keep customer records accurate.
• Produce customer statements and support sales ledger activities.
• Monitor aged debt and escalate concerns when needed.
• Liaise with internal teams to resolve account discrepancies.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and month-end activities.
