Job summary

Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust in Derby is seeking a Band 6 Community Specialist Podiatrist for Derby City and South Derbyshire. Join a supportive service focused on high-risk foot care, wound management and MSK assessment while progressing your career.

We welcome HCPC-registered podiatrists who can work autonomously, manage a clinical caseload, collaborate in MDTs and contribute to professional development and quality improvement within community podiatry.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Podiatrist holding Bsc hons Podiatry or equivalent.
• Ability to demonstrate working to Band 6 level competencies.
• Access to transport to enable locality working.
• Experience of working in MDT.

Responsibilities

• Work as an autonomous practitioner managing a specialist clinical caseload.
• Assess, diagnose, plan and deliver evidence-based podiatric care.
• Provide specialist assessment and treatment for patients with high-risk and complex foot problems.
• Undertake wound assessment and management where appropriate.
• Develop and implement individualised treatment and management plans.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, diabetes teams, vascular services and other MDT members.
• Provide education and preventative foot-care information to patients and carers.
• Support development and delivery of high-quality community podiatry services.
• Contribute to clinical supervision, mentorship, teaching and development of colleagues and students.
• Participate in service development, audit, quality improvement and clinical governance.
