Job summary

W Talent Finance is partnering with a well-established independent accountancy practice in Barnsley to hire a Client Account Manager. You will manage a portfolio of established clients, acting as the main contact for accounting and tax needs, building strong relationships with business owners and individuals.

The role offers autonomy to own client relationships, a modern technology-led environment, and a competitive salary around £45,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent (strong practice experience considered).
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
• Strong technical knowledge across accounts and taxation.
• Confident dealing directly with directors, business owners and individuals.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercial and practical approach to client management.
• Independent work style with good organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of established clients across sectors.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with business owners and individuals.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients across their accounting and tax requirements.
• Prepare and review company accounts and financial statements.
• Prepare and review personal and corporation tax returns.
• Prepare management accounts and VAT returns.
• Provide clients with practical accounting and tax advice.
• Attend client meetings and develop a strong understanding of client businesses.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional services and support to clients.
• Take ownership of client relationships and the delivery of work.
• Supervise and support junior team members.
