Job summary

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner for the Wakefield CAMHS Enhanced Outreach Team. The role focuses on assessing and treating children and young people with complex mental health needs within a multidisciplinary framework, with supervision and safeguarding at the core.

You will work autonomously and collaboratively, liaising with Social Care Direct and other agencies, delivering evidence-based interventions in various settings, and supporting risk

Qualifications

• Substantial post-qualification experience, including work with Children, young people and carers in mental health or complex care settings.
• Multidisciplinary team working experience.
• Inter-agency liaison and consultation experience.
• Experience supervising/mentoring junior staff.
• Knowledge of NHS mental health legislation and safeguarding guidelines.
• Ability to manage own caseload autonomously within supervision framework.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and treatment for children and young people with mental health needs.
• Work autonomously and within MDT, offering consultation to other agencies.
• Promote safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
• Deliver routine and urgent assessments and interventions within CAMHS under supervision.
• Attend extended hours and participate in service development and training.
